Obverse: Christ nimbate and enthroned, hand raised in benediction with gospels.
Reverse: Crowned facing busts of Romanus I and Christopher, each holding cross.
LEGEND
Obv. +IhS XPS REX REGNANTIUM*, Figure of Christ Pantakrator, nimbate, enthroned facing, raising right hand in benediction and holding Gospels in left arm. Rev. ROMAN’ ET XPISTOFO’ AUGG b’, crowned facing half-length busts of Romanus I Lecapenus to the left, with short beard and wearing loros, and Christopher to right, beardless and wearing chlamys; each holding a long patriarchal cross between them.
